With Sony’s first try at a virtual reality headset, which we found to be rather impressive, things have only gotten better with the PSVR 2. The high-end console system, which was only recently released, has already earned the top rank on our list of the best VR headsets for 2023. It used to be exclusively sold by Sony, but now you can buy it from big-name stores like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. Deals are now hard to find because the system is still quite new, however below we’ve included pretty much the only options available. As more specials become available, we’ll keep this page updated.
Sony’s PSVR 2 retails for $550. The set includes the headset itself as well as two PSVR 2 Sense controllers.

Yes, you will need to own a PS5 in order to set up and use the PlayStation VR2 headset. The PSVR 2 isn’t a stand-alone, self-contained headset like Meta’s Quest 2 or Quest Pro: It has to be tethered to Sony’s latest-gen console. Fortunately, it’s gotten a lot easier to get your hands on a PS5, which is currently available at Sony, Amazon and Best Buy.
Sony’s next-generation headgear was initially available for preorder through the PlayStation online store, but exclusively to residents of the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. After the invite requirement was quickly removed, anyone with a PlayStation account may now order a PSVR 2 for $550 or purchase one from most big-box stores. In addition, it can be purchased for $600 when purchased with Horizon Call of the Mountain, saving $10 over purchasing the headset and game separately.
At the moment, Horizon Call of the Mountain is the sole package for the PSVR 2. If you know you want to purchase the game, getting the headset and game at the same time will save you $10 compared to buying the game separately.
The PSVR 2 was previously only available for purchase directly from Sony, but it is now available via most of the big box stores, including Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. And happily, it appears that obtaining one won’t be quite as challenging as it was for the PlayStation 5 when it initially hit the market.
While there aren’t many bargains available right now, we’ll keep this page updated as new reductions and packages start to appear.
